What is Ask YouTube?

Ask YouTube is YouTube's conversational search: instead of typing keywords, viewers tap "Ask" in the search bar and ask a question in plain language, then have a back-and-forth conversation to find the right videos. YouTube began the experiment on desktop and, as of August 2026, is rolling it out to the mobile app and TV — currently for signed-in viewers in the US, in English, with more countries and languages promised.
