YOUTUBE PARTNER PROGRAMME · 2027 CHANGES

Will you make the Partner Programme before the bar doubles?

From 1 February 2027, new channels need 8,000 watch hours (up from 4,000) or 20 million Shorts views (up from 10 million). Type in your numbers from YouTube Studio and see what you need, and by when. Free, no sign-up, nothing leaves your browser.

Are you already in the YouTube Partner Programme?
Your numbers
YouTube Studio → Earn tab shows these.
YouTube Studio → Earn tab shows these. Use the qualified figure there.
YouTube Studio → Earn tab shows these. Leave blank if you don't make Shorts.
Your pace (optional, for dates)
YouTube Studio → Analytics, set to the last 28 days. Studio is the authority on all of these.
YouTube Studio → Analytics → Content → Shorts, last 28 days.
Fill in your numbers above and your answer appears here.
Why the dates are a best case. Watch hours count over a rolling 365 days, so hours watched a year ago drop out as each day passes. This calculator can't see when your old hours were watched, so it assumes none drop out. Your real date may be later. Connect your channel to see hours dropping out: the signed-in page reads your own analytics and counts them. Shorts views count over 90 days, so for Shorts we show what a full 90 days at your recent pace would hold rather than a date. Everything here is arithmetic on the numbers you typed. It is not a YouTube figure and it is not a forecast.
Rules as YouTube announced them on 10 August 2026. Read the 2027 changes in plain English, or YouTube's own Partner Programme eligibility page.
