This policy applies to the VideoCore YouTube Downloader browser extension (transcripts, comments and thumbnails, including bulk transcript collection) published by VideoCore (videocore.uk). It does not cover VideoCore Lens, which is a different extension that signs you in and communicates with our servers — see the VideoCore Lens privacy policy for that one.
www.youtube.com host permission):
it reads the transcript panel, the comment section, and thumbnail image URLs that YouTube
itself has rendered or published for that page. In bulk mode it navigates your tab through
the videos of a playlist, your Watch Later, or a channel page — visibly, under your control,
and cancellable at any time — and reads each page the same way.downloads permission: used solely to save thumbnail images (which are
cross-origin files on i.ytimg.com) through the browser's download manager when
you click a save button. Nothing is downloaded without your click.storage permission: used solely to remember your settings (which tools
are switched on, format preferences), the progress of a bulk run, and whether you have
dismissed the one-time review prompt. This data stays in your browser.Panels include ordinary links to free tools on videocore.uk (for example Script Lab). These
are plain links: nothing is sent unless you click one, and clicking one simply opens the page
in a new tab with a standard utm tag identifying that the visit came from the
extension. No identifier of you is attached.
All settings and bulk-run progress live in your browser's local extension storage and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the extension. We hold nothing to delete on our side.
If a future version changes any of the above, this page will be updated first and the change described plainly in the extension's changelog.
